Springboard runs a highly successful Into Work Programme which is specifically designed to help unemployed people make the transition into work within the Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism industry.
The programme directly addresses the needs of people who face multiple barriers to getting a job and offers a uniquely personal level of support to participants.
This programme has been running successfully for over seven years and has placed over 800 people with multiple barriers to employment into jobs.
Current porfolio of programmes
Routes Into Work (Into Work London)
A 3 week sector specific training course developing the skills of learners aged 18 – 24 looking at making the step in to the Hospitality Industry. All referrals come through Jobcentre Plus and are at least 6 months unemployed and claiming Jobseekers Allowance.
Objectives of the course include:
- Confidence & Motivation through team activities
- Tailoring CV’s to the Industry
- Interview Techniques/Mock Interviews
- Welcome Host / Food Safety Training / Health & Safety
- Presentation Skills

Future Jobs Fund (Into Work London)
Springboard in partnership with national youth charity Barnardos have the opportunity to help 60 young Londoners (aged 18-24) gain employment in the industry. These young people may have some work experience, but have been made redundant or people who have some barriers or concerns. They may have recently graduated from college or university and are finding it hard to find work due to the current climate. Through the Future Jobs Fund, the government are willing to pay the minimum wage to these young people for the full 6 months, starting in January 2009 until November 2010 and means that your company does not pay any money to this worker. You may of course decide to hire this worker after the 6 month period.

Galvin's Chance, London (Into Work London)
Funded by the industry, this brand new programme works with young people aged between 18-24 not in education, employment or formal training. By participating in this programme, the young people will have the opportunity and training for a front of house career in some of the most prestigious hotels in London. Key delivery partners in the programme include Hilton in the Community Foundation, Galvin at Windows London Hilton Park Lane, Westminster Kingsway College and the STOP Campaign lead by Alex Rose.

Work Focused Training (Into Work London)
The main objective of this programme is to source and place learners on a 4 week placement within the industry. Referrals are made via Reed In Partnership on a weekly basis and learners attend an induction with Springboard prior to starting on placement. The learners will develop their existing skills and gain new skills through this work placement.

IWISH (Into Work Scotland Hospitality) Programme, Dumfries Scotland
Working in partnership with Job Centre Plus, Dumfries & Galloway College, this programme supports unemployed people into employment over a nine week period consisting of five weeks college based learning, industry visits and a four week industry placement.

Recruiting the Right Staff, Highlands & Islands Scotland
Funded by the European Social Fund, the key delivery partners in this programme include Highland Employer Coalition, JobCentre Plus, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and the Centre for Applied Tourism & Hospitality Management. This programme works with over 100 unemployed people and supports them back into sustainable employment through an intensive engagement pipeline of job ready training and employer engagement.
Quick to the Cut, Highlands & Islands Scotland
Quick to the Cut is a residential based training programme that merges education and industry learning over a 12 week learning experience that provides the candidate with an intensive journey of education, mentoring and practical skills. The programme concentrates of three key disciplines; Quick to the Cut Chefing, Quick to the Cut in Hospitality Retail and Quick to the Cut Front of House.
